WCJC Campus Expansion

Wharton County Junior College’s Bay City campus is gearing up for a big upgrade, expanding its programs and facilities. They’re adding courses in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Thanks to a $2 million donation from Senator Joan Huffman, the expansion is set to roll out by Spring.

Bridal Expo Event

The Wharton Civic Center on North Fulton St is hosting the Wharton County Bridal Expo on Sunday, January 14, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is $5. Cowan New City Fire Marshal

Jeff Cowan, a long-serving member of the Victoria Fire Department, has been promoted to city fire marshal. His new role involves planning and maintaining the city’s fire prevention program and investigating fires. He’s climbed the ranks since 2004, with roles from firefighter to interim fire marshal.

Lost Cow – Owner Sought

El Campo City Hall will be shut on Monday for New Year’s Day. It’ll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 2nd. Texas Disposal Systems won’t operate on January 1st.
