Courthouse Floor Renovations

The Wharton County Courthouse Annex will shut down early Friday for floor renovations. Commissioner Steven Goetsch urges Friday visitors, especially voters, to complete their courthouse business before noon to prevent any hold-ups. The flooring work is set to conclude next week.

Law Enforcement Training

Wharton County is stepping up its game in law enforcement training. The county commissioners unanimously approved the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office to become a contract training provider with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Instead of sending deputies elsewhere, the sheriff aims to conduct training right here in Wharton County at no cost to taxpayers.
