Near Drowning

Matagorda County deputies and beachgoers rescued a man from drowning at Matagorda Beach on Saturday. Deputies were alerted to a possible drowning victim 75 to 100 yards out in the surf and with the help of bystanders, pulled him to shore. The man was flown to a hospital for treatment.
