Vets Honored

Tuesday morning, Faith Christian Academy in Wharton held a Veterans Day ceremony to honor nine veterans. Students led pledges and prayers, expressing gratitude for their service. Afterward, the school invited veterans in attendance to stand and be recognized by giving their names and branches of service, along with years served in the military.

Rotary Club Honors Snyders

The El Campo Rotary Club honored Mindi and Jeff Snyder for donating $50,000 to support various community services. They received a Major Donor Level 3 recognition from former District Governor Bill Palko. Mindi, a former city manager, and Rotary leader, was introduced to the White Hat Society for annual $5,000 dollar donors.

El Campo Sidewalk Grant

El Campo got a $3.7 million grant to build sidewalks on East Jackson Street from Ellwood to City Hall. It’s not just about sidewalks; it’s fighting blight, improving transportation, and making the area beautiful. El Campo’s grant request was one of 83 funded by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Richard Allen, a 44-year-old man from Wharton, was arrested on October 30th for the murder of Larry Henderson Jr., a 46-year-old man from Waxahachie. Playground Accident

A 3-year-old girl hurt herself playing at Myatt Elementary on Monday. A helicopter took her to the hospital in Houston. She missed a step on the playground. The teacher called for help, and they used the helicopter for a quick trip. She’s okay now and back home. The other kids are fine too.
