DWI Arrest Near Matagorda

Darien Prudhomme, a 30-year-old from Houston, was arrested last week near the Matagorda County line for driving while intoxicated. Deputies responded to the scene and detected a strong smell of alcohol. After failing sobriety tests, Prudhomme was arrested, posted a $1,000 bond, and was released the same day.

Texans Reject Judge Retirement

In Matagorda County, less than a quarter of registered voters took part in the election deciding on 14 statute changes. All propositions were favored except for Proposition 13, which proposed increasing the retirement age for state judges. This proposition was also rejected by voters across Texas.

34 year old Fredrick Agu Jr. was pulled over for a traffic violation in Boling recently. The officer smelled marijuana from his car. After searching, they found a small amount of marijuana and a 9mm handgun. Agu was arrested for these offenses and taken to Wharton County Jail.
