Silver Alert Issued

A 73-year-old man, John Forster, is currently missing in Bay City. Authorities have issued a Silver Alert seeking public assistance. He was last spotted on foot around 9 p.m. Friday at 40 Albatross Street in Bay City. If you have any information, please contact local authorities.

Investigation Underway

A former El Campo Police detective, Freddie Douglas, is facing serious charges, including aggravated sexual assault. A $100,000 bond has been set for him. The 40-year-old was arrested at the police headquarters and taken to Brazoria County Jail. Douglas is now on administrative leave while an investigation is ongoing. The incident occurred on November 8th.

Church Theft Indictments Issued

Jose Jaramillo, 29, and Thomas Graham, 44, face serious charges for allegedly stealing from St. Robert’s Catholic Church in El Campo. A Wharton County grand jury has formally indicted both men with two counts each. Sandra Hedges, 61, who is accused of hiding the stolen items, received a single-count indictment.

Maria’s 109th Birthday Ride

Celebrating her 109th birthday, Maria San Miguel rode in a Corvette at Twin Pines Nursing and Rehab Center. Despite her age, she’s lively and humorous. San Miguel attributes her long life to avoiding cigarettes, alcohol, and enjoying motorcycle adventures with her husband. Surprisingly, she never expected to reach 109.

Trim-a-tree fundraiser

Tree House Furniture is hosting the Blessing Cup’s Trim-a-tree fundraiser until Friday December 15th. They’re accepting food donations and funds to buy frozen food. Fire Damage by Arson

On Wednesday night, five fires were intentionally set in an abandoned building in Bay City. The fire department extinguished the fires, causing no injuries but $5,000 in damages.
