Bay City Police get new officers

Bay City Police have sworn in a couple of new officers. The Bay City Tribune says two cadets were sworn in as officers last week. The officers were from the program that started a couple of years ago, and they spent six months in the Police Academy.

Attempted traffic stop leads to pursuit, arrest

The Wharton County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit early Sunday morning. A deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit reached over 90 miles an hour. Governor green lights action with migrants

Governor Greg Abbott has authorized state forces to catch migrants and take them to the U.S.-Mexico border. Abbott said that he issued an executive order “authorizing and empowering” two agencies to start returning the migrants to the border. On Twitter, Governor Abbott said Texas is taking unprecedented action to stop the criminal enterprise.
