Bay City Police have sworn in a couple of new officers. The Bay City Tribune says two cadets were sworn in as officers last week. The officers were from the program that started a couple of years ago, and they spent six months in the Police Academy.

The Wharton County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit early Sunday morning. A deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit reached over 90 miles an hour. Governor Greg Abbott has authorized state forces to catch migrants and take them to the U.S.-Mexico border. Abbott said that he issued an executive order “authorizing and empowering” two agencies to start returning the migrants to the border.
