Levee Project Finally Starts

The Wharton City levee project, aimed at protecting the city from floods, began construction last week after a 25-year wait. The project was initiated following a devastating flood in 1998. The levee will be built upstream of Dinosaur Park to guard against rising water levels in the Colorado River, Peach Creek, and Caney Creek.
