Smith New Executive Director

The Wharton Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture announced Karen Smith as the new Executive Director, replacing Ron Sanders who retired after 17 years. Flag Retirement Ceremony

On Wednesday Boy Scouts Troop 364 of Victoria, along with local veterans and the American Legion, held a flag retirement ceremony at the Bloomington VFW. They retired over 1,000 worn American flags. Man Arrested for Assault

New Security Cameras

Jackson County Commissioners approved installing new security cameras at the Service Building for the Justice of the Peace #1 court. They contracted YK Communication to install Cloudcam cameras for $2,295, with a monthly fee of $310 for 24 months. They also bought five new voting machines for $14,300, bringing the total to 33.
