OakBend Medical Center hit by ransomware attack

Hackers who infiltrated and shut down the computer system at Oak Bend Medical Center on Sept. 1st also siphoned off “sensitive patient and employee” personal information. The hackers, whose identify is still unknown to hospital executives, uploaded a ransom ware virus into the hospital’s computer system, effectively shutting it off until a ransom was paid.

Police arrest man charged with robbery with gun

A Lake Jackson man has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery stemming from an incident where he allegedly pulled a gun and robbed a victim in Bay City. Christian L. Jones, 21, of Lake Jackson, was charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest with a vehicle, and tamper/fabricate physical evidence.
