Man Shot, Airlifted to Houston

A man in Bay City got shot in the belly and was flown to Houston for treatment. It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in Palm Village. The victim was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to Hermann Memorial. If you know anything, call Bay City Police.

Museum Expansion

Cynthia Armstrong, the museum director, achieved her goal of expanding the Matagorda County Museum’s third floor wing. The Lower Colorado River Authority provided $10,000 for the project, and the museum added $5,000 to help transform the space into an exhibition area for historical artifacts and local art.

Low Voter Turnout Concerns

Minor Car Crash in Victoria

Police and firefighters rushed to a small car crash on Laurent and Ash Street in Victoria. It happened at 7:30 on a Thursday morning. Luckily, nobody got hurt badly in the minor collision, and nobody had to go to the hospital.

Trial Cancellation and Charges

The court hearing for Fernando Acosta Jr. in the Amanda Johnson murder case, originally set for June 8, 2023, and later rescheduled to October 25, has been canceled. Acosta, the murder suspect, turned himself in, got released on a $500,000 bond, and is facing charges of evidence tampering, corpse abuse, and murder.

Road Reopened After Morning Crash

The Fort Bend County Toll Road is open again after a crash on Wednesday morning. It happened on the northbound lanes near FM 2234/McHard Road. The Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatal crash. The road was closed for a few hours, with traffic diverted to Lake Olympia Parkway.
