Sugar Land City Council approved a $28 million grant application for the Brazos River Riverbank Erosion Mitigation Project to the Texas Water Development Board. The council also approved a $2.7 million contract for an artificial intelligence detection system installation at all city intersections. The installation is set to begin soon.

Local Gym Owner Arrested

Douglas Zelkowski, a 41-year-old gym owner and Air Force veteran from Victoria, was arrested in Bishop for indecent assault at a school event. He was reported for inappropriate contact with a minor.
