51 year old Samantha Morris, a boarding home operator in Fort Bend County, was arrested after deputies found nine neglected individuals in her facility. Five were hospitalized. Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna is fundraising to build a columbarium, a structure for storing urns, due to the increasing preference for cremation over burial. They’ve raised $38,000 for the columbarium and need an additional $7,000-$7,500 for its concrete base. The columbarium will have 72 niches, each capable of holding two urns. Donations are welcome.
