Teen Faces More Charges

An 18-year-old arrested by Victoria Police on April 9th now faces more charges. Zachary Gonzales faces five charges, including theft of a firearm and resisting arrest. He’s also a suspect in a shooting in Bloomington. Gonzales is in Victoria County jail on an $85,000 bond.

Overcoming Obstacles Event

In Victoria, the 1,000 Strong Over Coming Obstacles race drew 177 runners to Patriot Park on Saturday. They tackled permanent obstacles in a 5K or 10K run, raising $26,000 for Restoration House Ministries. This charity helps women fight substance abuse and trauma through faith. It was their largest turnout since relocating from Riverside Park.

Aggravated Assault Charge

In El Campo, a recent dispute on Lincoln Street escalated when two men exchanged gunfire. Thankfully, no one was injured.
