Law Enforcement Training

Wharton County is stepping up its game in law enforcement training. The county commissioners unanimously approved the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office to become a contract training provider with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Instead of sending deputies elsewhere, the sheriff aims to conduct training right here in Wharton County at no cost to taxpayers.

Wellness Community Project

At their latest meeting, the Gulf Bend Center’s trustees gave the nod to their request for city funds from Victoria’s Community Development Block Grant. Jail Time for Charles

In El Campo, Texas, police apprehended a suspect last Friday. The suspect, 61-year-old Charles Washington, is facing two charges, one of which is aggravated assault against a family member using a weapon. Currently, he is being held in the Wharton County Jail on a $255,000 dollar bond.
