As Halloween approaches, Bay City is shifting its focus to the vibrant Day of the Dead festival. Unlike Halloween, which often emphasizes spookiness, Day of the Dead is a heartfelt celebration honoring those who have passed away. Event coordinator Amanda Garcia explains that the brightly colored skeletons and marigolds symbolize joy and remembrance, not fear. This two-day festival starting November 1 will allow locals and visitors to embrace the rich culture of Mexico, featuring altars, dancing, parades, and more.
