Flood Prevention Rules

Victoria County has updated its flood prevention rules for the first time since 1998. The new order, effective July 17th, includes updated floodplain maps and definitions, like ‘industrialized building’ and ‘job shack,’ to better match current FEMA standards. Homes not up to code must upgrade if damaged by floods. The county can now appoint a floodplain administrator, ensuring better preparedness and safety for residents.
