Wharton County residents enjoyed free donuts and supported The Salvation Army this past weekend. H-E-B stores celebrated National Donut Day by offering one free donut and special deals on coffee and donuts through Sunday. Two percent of related sales were donated to The Salvation Army. National Donut Day honored the “Donut Lassies” who served donuts to soldiers in WWI.
