El Campo’s emergency medical team is busier than ever, with calls set to top 3,000 this year. That’s about eight emergencies every day, a 6% jump from before. Most of these are urgent 911 calls, but they also do planned hospital trips and other jobs. And they’re doing all this even though it’s getting tough to get new ambulances, with orders being dropped left and right across the country.
