An update on Monday’s train derailment. In Kendleton three empty tank cars derailed in a rail yard, but remained upright and caused no injuries or track damage. The train’s owner, Kansas City Southern, confirmed that a locomotive leaked fuel but the spill was contained. The cause of the derailment is under investigation. Although recent hazardous chemical wrecks in Ohio and Minnesota have led to evacuations, this incident did not require any response from Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
