Suspicious Fire

A trailer caught fire on Fifth Street on Thursday morning, prompting officials to respond to the scene. A neighbor called 911, but the resident of the home had already started trying to put out the fire. Firefighters from the Bay City volunteer fire department arrived and were able to extinguish the fire in less than an hour. Fire Marshal Dan Shook investigated the scene and found evidence suggesting that the fire was intentionally set over several days. The damage to the home is estimated to be around $5,000, and thankfully no injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.
