Wharton County homeowners will now benefit from changes in appraisal laws. A new website database for protests and a simplified process for over 65 exemptions are in place starting this month. Thanks to House Bill 796, districts now provide searchable databases for protest hearings.The new system allows online appeals and checking appeal status. House Bill 4077 also ensures automatic over 65 exemptions without request.
