Racial profiling report

There’s a new report out from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement about the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and racial profiling. The report shows that the JCSO has a policy prohibiting officers from engaging in racial profiling and set up a process for filing complaints. Last year officers made 1,091 stops and collected information on every stop that resulted in a warning, citation, or arrest. The report shows that Hispanic/Latinos were stopped the most at 563, followed by Caucasians with 415 stops, African-Americans with 88, and Asian-Americans with 22.
