No-through truck traffic zone

The Wharton County Commissioners voted unanimously to create a no-through truck traffic zone on County Road 212 near Kendleton. This decision was made after trucks hauling materials to solar farms were damaging the road and causing safety concerns. The request for the zone was initiated by Commissioner Bud Graves following complaints from residents. During a public hearing, resident Deborah Grigar expressed her safety concerns about the trucks turning around and backing up on the road, and congestion caused by trucks parked on the side of the road. The new zone aims to prevent damage to the road and ensure safety for all.
