The Edna Police Department has received $50,000 dollars grant money through the Lone Star Task Force grant in order to purchase a new vehicle with equipment. This is in addition to $32,000 dollars of additional grants prior to the Lone Star grant, now totaling $82,000. Police Chief Rick Boone says it’s a good opportunity to get something they need and not cost any money. It’s Boone’s hope to replace his lieutenant’s vehicle with
something newer. The money is expected to be arriving in the near future.
