In El Campo, the Mechanic Street water line is getting an upgrade, set to finish by year-end. Expect some minor service disruptions. They’re replacing a nearly 100-year-old line under the road from Fifth to Franke streets. The new line on the west side will double capacity, replacing the old patched-up one. The new service lines will start from the Fifth Street area.
