Suspect in murder case out on bond

The suspect in the Amanda Johnson murder case, Fernando Colin Acosta Jr., who turned himself into the Matagorda County Jail, is out on a 500 thousand dollar bond. In April of 2021, the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office found a burned-out vehicle with human remains, which was confirmed to be the remains of 38 year old Amanda Johnson, a mother of two children. Acosta Jr. is charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
