Wharton County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Captain Bill Hedges assisted with an arrest last weekend while shopping at Tractor Supply Company in El Campo. He saw a male subject open a DeWalt box at TSC. He recognized the man as 64-year-old El Campo resident Domingo Aldape from previous law enforcement encounters. Hedges identified himself as a sheriff’s deputy before commanding Aldape to stop. He attempted to flee instead, but Hedges was able to grab Aldape and take him to ground. As the subject fell, the DeWalt drill fell out of his jacket.
