Louise ISD voters will decide in May whether to approve a $9 million bond for a new cafeteria and equipment upgrades. The plan would raise property taxes by about $160 a year on the average home. Superintendent Richard Wright says the 400-seat cafeteria would replace the cramped 1961 building, which forces students to eat in shifts from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The board approved the bond plan earlier this month after community input. Early voting runs April 20–28, with Election Day set for May 2.
