Jailer has been indicted

A Matagorda County jailer has been indicted by the Grand Jury after an investigation by the Texas Rangers. The jailer, Brianna Delarosa, aged 29, faces a charge of official oppression, a Class A misdemeanor. She was released on a $15,000 bond. Lieutenant James Orr from the Sheriff’s Office confirmed an ongoing investigation into the allegations made against Delarosa. Official oppression involves mistreatment, rights denial, or sexual harassment while in uniform, and can lead to up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000, or both.
