Granite Construction, working on Wharton’s levee project, plans to repaint the iconic Dinosaur Park statue—turning its gray body “greenbelt” green—pending City Council approval. The company offered free labor and materials as part of its community volunteer efforts. Also the council addressed handgun access during public meetings after a state complaint. Wharton’s finance director proposed a June 12th meeting for residents to ask about the upcoming Drinking Water Quality Report.
