The National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington opens to the public Tuesday, marking Medal of Honor Day and three years since construction began on the $217 million project. The 100,000-square-foot museum highlights the bravery of 3,526 recipients, including Wharton County’s Johnnie David Hutchins Mike Peña and Roy Benavidez. Over 30 recipients and their families attended private events ahead of the grand opening. Designed for all ages, the museum features interactive exhibits and 50 Medals of Honor. Millions are expected to visit each year.
