Bay City’s Camryn Garcia is headed to state after placing second in the 198-pound class at the Class 4A Region 4 powerlifting meet. She lifted a total of 885 pounds, earning five of Bay City’s six team points. Rachel Castillo took fifth in the 148-pound class with a 735-pound total. Meanwhile, Palacios dominated the Class 3A regional, winning with 58 points. Four Sharks lifters claimed regional titles, including Yessica Baez, Karlee Buckley, Teagan Duke, and Kynleigh Llanes. Palacios is sending nine athletes to the state meet later this month.
