Water line replacement project

Construction is happening on North Mechanic Street near West Calhoun as part of a $2.6 million water line replacement project funded by American Rescue funds. The project involves replacing a 1927 six-inch water line and doubling its size. Additionally, new fire hydrants, valves, and service lines will be installed while shifting the line to the west. City Utilities Superintendent says this project will significantly enhance service in the area and accommodate future growth.
