Bay City now has its own critical-care air medical base with the launch of Allegiance Air 2. The new helicopter and crew are stationed locally to speed emergency response and patient transport across Matagorda County and nearby coastal communities. Operated by Allegiance Mobile Health and PHI Air Medical, the Bay City base expands Gulf Coast coverage and replaces PHI’s longtime Ellington operation near Houston. Officials say the move puts advanced care closer to rural areas where every minute counts. The team completed its first patient flight the same day service began.
