The Lavaca-Navidad River Authority is investing in the future, awarding $15,000 in scholarships to help local students continue their education. Thirteen $1,000 awards and one $2,000 Kay Frels Memorial Scholarship are available to graduating seniors and college students. Each of Jackson County’s school areas will share $4,000 in awards, with one scholarship set aside for a current college student. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. March 31st at the LNRA office in Edna or by mail. Winners will be announced by April 24th.
