The El Campo Ricebirds saw their season end in the bi-district round for the second straight year after a 27-14 loss to Calallen on Friday night. Calallen jumped out to a fast 21-0 lead, catching El Campo off guard with looks they had not seen. The Ricebirds clawed back with touchdowns from Vlad Garcia and Kylon Taylor, cutting the deficit to 27-14 by halftime. Both defenses tightened in the second half, but El Campo could not close the gap. Head coach Travis Reeve said the team fought hard and left everything on the field.
