Eddie, a 14-year-old cat that disappeared after crawling into a hotel wall during a New York-to-Texas trip, is finally on the road back to El Campo. Erie Humane Society staffer Brian Carroll left Monday morning on a planned multi-day drive to personally reunite Eddie with his owner. The rescue effort was crowdfunded within a few hours after the story spread online. Donors gave more than needed, and the remaining money will now support other animals with food, litter, and medical care at the shelter.
