Domestic Violence Awareness Walks

Wharton residents will gather next Wednesday for the fourth annual “Walk A Mile In Their Shoes,” a mile-long march raising awareness of domestic violence. The event starts at noon at The Crisis Center on North Fulton Street and ends at the Wharton County Courthouse gazebo with speakers and a moment of silence. Participants will carry signs, get free t-shirts and pizza, and walk alongside local law enforcement and officials. The Crisis Center reports helping over 1,000 clients this year, highlighting the growing need for its services. A Bay City walk will follow the day after.
