Bay City residents can weigh in on the city’s proposed property tax rate during a public hearing Sept. 16th at 5 p.m. at City Hall on 5th Street. The proposed rate is $0.55772 per $100 valuation, slightly lower than last year but still above the no-new-revenue rate. Rising property values mean most homeowners will pay about $39 more next year. The city says the increase will help maintain services without exceeding voter-approval limits. Residents are encouraged to attend and share feedback on the tax plan.
