St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wharton will host its 101st annual Ice Cream Social this evening from 5 to 7 at 325 N. East Avenue. Locals can enjoy homemade ice cream, cakes, cookies, and sandwiches at no set price—donations support youth and outreach efforts. A silent auction by the St. Paul Quilters will feature handmade quilts and desserts. Last year’s funds helped send local doctors to Costa Rica. The tradition continues despite past disasters, war, and a pandemic.
