Hill Country Floodwaters Diverted

Recent flooding in the Texas Hill Country is not expected to impact Wharton County. Local officials say floodwaters were held back by lakes and diverted away from the Colorado River. The river will crest at 14.5 feet in Wharton, well below flood stage. San Bernard and Brazos rivers remain stable. Midfield VFD and Matagorda deputies have sent supplies to affected areas. Wharton officials wants locals to keep Hill Country families and first responders in their thoughts. The Kerr County Relief Fund is accepting vetted donations online.
