El Campo Man Sentenced to 50 Years

Paul Cordova Jr., an El Campo man convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing a 6-year-old child in ’18, was sentenced to 50 years in prison with no chance of early release. Wharton County District Attorney Mark Racer described Cordova as a dangerous predator whose victims were mostly family members by marriage, with at least one unrelated victim. The sentence was handed down by Judge Randy Clapp. This strict punishment ensures Cordova will spend his entire sentence behind bars, making Wharton County safer for local families.
