Blackcats Fall Short of District Title

Bay City nearly claimed the District 29-4A track title finishing just 12 points behind Needville. The Blackcats tallied 140 points with standout performances in sprints and distance events. Freshman Kevin Vera won both the mile and two-mile, while Jada Andrews and Xylan Williams dominated the 100 and 200. Bay City advanced athletes in 13 events to the area meet, including all three relays. In the field, Williams placed in the long and triple jumps, and Ty Schneider cleared 14-6 in the pole vault. Ladycat Mal Richardson-Clay broke the school record to win shot put.
