A Wharton Elementary fourth grader is in hot water after falsely claiming he brought a knife to school on March 5th. School officials quickly investigated, but the student had already left for a prior commitment. A full search found no weapon, and no students were ever in danger. The district assured parents all safety protocols were followed.
In a separate incident, a Wharton Elementary staff member was fired the next day for being drunk on campus. Officials confirmed the employee had no contact with students and will not return.
