El Campo Ladybird senior Kamryn Mears delivered a flawless performance last Tuesday night, retiring all 21 Wharton batters in a 5-0 win to open district play at Legacy Field. Mears struck out 15, walking none, and allowed only a few balls in play. Her dominant pitching, combined with solid defense, kept Wharton at bay. At the plate, Mears contributed two RBI groundouts. The Ladybirds capitalized in the fifth, adding three more runs. El Campo, ranked 11th in 4A, showed their strength in both pitching and defense.
