The fire on Camino Del Arroyo began while they were out, starting in a bedroom where a turned-off but plugged-in heater’s damaged cord shorted. The brothers tried to save their dogs but were forced back by heavy smoke. Fire crews arrived in eight minutes and battled the flames for over an hour, but the $15,000 home was a total loss.
