A Wharton County deputy found a suspected drunk driver passed out behind the wheel of a running car early Sunday morning near U.S. 59 and CR 216. The black Mitsubishi was reported stuck in the mud around 12:30 a.m. The driver, 34-year-old Raymond Felder of Wharton, refused sobriety tests and was arrested for suspected DWI. While being booked, synthetic marijuana fell from his pocket, leading to additional charges for possession and bringing a prohibited substance into jail. Felder posted $15,000 bond and was released later that day.
