Deputies in El Campo were assisting a woman with a civil standby to safely move out of a trailer on Ruth Street when they encountered 33-year-old Thomas Michael Zimmerman of Boling. Instead of simply overseeing the situation, deputies discovered Zimmerman was violating a bond or protective order. He was arrested on December 24th and taken into custody with bond set at $3,000. The civil standby, intended to ensure a calm relocation, quickly turned into an arrest situation.
