In El Campo, buying purple donuts on Wednesdays and Thursdays this month can help fight polio. The El Campo Literacy Advocates Rotaract Club sells them through Daylight Donuts for $15 a dozen, with $7 going to the End Polio Now campaign. The Rotary Club may match the funds, and every dollar is tripled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The purple color symbolizes the ink used to mark children vaccinated against polio. Last year, this effort raised $4,800.
